Medela recently released a new bottle called the Calma that’s supposed to mimic breastfeeding and prevent nipple confusion. Milk only flows from the Calma when baby sucks, so baby can control the milk flow like he would when breastfeeding. You can even hold the bottle upside down and it doesn’t drip like other nipples. The Calma comes in one nipple speed and is designed only for exclusively breastfed babies, and not for formula fed babies.

At $16.94 per bottle it’s definitely one of the priciest bottles around. But one reviewer on Amazon calls it “the Dyson of baby bottles,” and if it helps prevent nipple confusion, it may be a worthwhile investment for many parents.
